"My name is Daniel Smoochy" I said. "Wait...let me start over."
I coughed a bit as I gathered up my courage. The room was silent but I could hear all the television sets going through the walls.
"My name is Daniel Smoochy and I am a television-holic. I can't seem to stop watching it. At first, programs like Gigimon and Bu-Zi-Mo! were a pass time. Now, Canada Shore and Okra have become something of a daily thing. I mean, its not like I am addicted!"
A large woman snorted when I said that, but I continued anyways.
"Television is fun! I mean, at least to me it is... So I don't see how this can be an addiction quite frankly."
"No, of course not" said the guidance counselor who identified himself as Jack Blower. "But wouldn't you agree that television has taken control of your life? When was the last time you or your wife did anything fun together?" he asked.
I thought for a moment and then I said "Just last night! We saw 48 on BOX!"
He gave me a look but I still consider 48 to be a good show. I don't care how weird it was. Other shows like Family Fraud and The Glance were nothing compared to this. Stations have been putting anything up on t.v. I have noticed. Just the other day, I saw a show called "Pimp Out Your Garden" and well...that was pretty intense.
"Listen" he said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Oh no you don't!" I yelled and ran from the room crying. I rushed passed all the people who walked by me and ran right for the emergency exit. When I opened it, the alarm rang and I found myself face to face with security. There were two of them, and they looked familiar. One looked like that one contestant from Egyptian Idol and the other from CBA: Detention Detectives.
"Stay right there and don't move!" one of them yelled with a toy gun. I ran back into the hallway and straight into a clown. I was dazed and soon I fell to the floor and fainted. When I awoke, I was in my own room and the t.v. was still on, but nothing was being displayed...only static.
"So...it was all a dream?" i said quietly to myself.
The t.v. then showed three big letters. It said "BOX" and soon a commercial appeared promoting the station.
"YOU ARE WATCHING BOX, AMERICAS SEVENTH FAVORITE STATION!"
I screamed and yet...I laughed at the same time. Creepy huh?
