Jamie
I couldn't stand the fact that I, of all people, got stuck in a situation I couldn't get out of. I hated it. I hated it all. I looked at the door I had hidden behind for two weeks. I couldn't believe they hadn't broken in, yet. Keyword, yet. They will. I know they will, and I am terrified watching. I checked my walkie talkie. Nothing. Still alone.
I remember before this that was one of my pet peeves. I hated being alone, but I've gotten used to it. I heard clawing on the door. I reached for my gun, and knew they would be getting in here any second now. I heard groans and moans and slow footsteps.
In case I haven't told you yet, I'm Jamie Wilson, I'm fifteen. I'm in love with Bryson Carter. I am stuck in the middle of hell, fighting with things I thought were fake, things I thought were unreal, until I got a wake up call when I was thirteen. They are the things I am afraid of, right outside that door. Zombies. Literally, and I'm not ready to face them on my own.
The scratching stared again, but got louder and louder, I was terrified. I felt myself reach for my gun, but the bookshelf it sat on was weak, but I had forgotten that as I pushed my weight against it. It broke down hitting my head, and everything went black.
I awoke to someone yelling in my ear.
"Hey! You alright?" A husky voice shouted. I opened my eyes and groaned with agony.
"What's wrong with you?" I groaned and he sighed.
"Thank god you're not dead." He said and I looked at him.
"Who the hell are you?" I asked, it actually came out more rude then I intended.
"My name is Trace. Trace Bennigfield. Nice to meet you...?" He trailed off, and I knew he wanted my name.
"Jamie. Jamie Wilson." I shook his hand and he helped me up.
'Well, Miss Jamie, we've got ground to cover, you in or are you out?" He asked, and I answered almost as soon as he said it.
"In." I said and he smirked.
"Let's hope you're that fast at shooting." He said and I smirked.
We continued down the halls of this mansion. I didn't mention that this was a mansion, did I? Well, I apologize, this mansion was owned Claira Mason, the richest girl in town. We came here, hoping that Claria would help us, but we kinda got screwed over. So me and Bryson came here and hid. Well, I did, Bryson left to get supplies and never came back.
I actually took this time to get a good look at Trace. Trace had jet black hair and clear blue eyes. If I wasn't in love with Bryson, I probably would say that Trace was pretty damn hot. I decided to ask him a question. "Hey, so what's your back story?" He turned to me and smirked.
"Well, I'm kinda nineteen, about to go to college, I had a bright future, and yeah. Until one day I woke up and my parents tried to eat my face off." He said and I laughed, I couldn't help it. He laughed too. We both spent a minute laughing until we started to walk again. We fought our way to the basement, and found an old freezer, which had stopped working. We finally figured out the code to the lock. We looked inside.
"This is so perfect." Trace said, "Steel door, sturdy, electrical properties, and tons of room. We aren't far from the water supply, I can probably set up a sink and toilet." He said, proud of himself. I laughed. The way he said toilet made me laugh. It took a few days but we finally got settled, and decided to head out for supplies.
We raided the store, found stuff there, then headed to other places, but I saw something, I swore I did. I shot at what I saw and it screamed in protest. We both went to see what it was. It was a chick. I looked at her with sympathy. "I'm sorry." I said and she looked up, smirking.
"You're fine, It's hard to tell." She said, the way her voice was pushed out, she was in pain.
"What's your name?" I asked and she smiled.
"Raine Heartford. Nice to meet you." She said and I helped her up. I looked towards Trace, who was staring straight at her. I smiled and he turned away, I giggled. We finally got back to the freezer, and we got settled.
A few hours later there was a knock at the door and a voice. "Help me! Please! I need help! Please, I'm begging you!" The voice sounded female, so we opened up. A girl rushed in and shut the door.
"Ciena." Trace said and she looked up.
"Trace! My best friend!" She cried and gave Trace a huge hug. Raine scoffed.
"Puh-lease. Get a room." She said and Trace looked at her.
"You get more with Honey then you do with Vinegar, Toots." Trace said smoothly, and action happened in the room. I laughed, Ciena tried to hide her laughter, Trace smirked and Raine shot up.
"What did you call me?!" Raine growled and he let Ciena go.
"I say it's about time for bed." He said, and I agreed. I got to my part of the freezer, with a useful sliding door, which I put a curtain up in, so I didn't have to watch everyone else. We all had the same thing, some were from different angles, though. Ciena went to lay in bed and I moved the curtain aside to watch the tension between Trace and Raine.
Trace smirked at Raine and she glared. "GOODNIGHT." She said coldly. Trace smirked and reached for her chin. It caught all of us by surprise.
"Goodnight, Toots." Trace said and he kissed her. My mouth dropped. Ciena covered her mouth. He pulled away and walked away. Raine stood there for a few seconds, frozen.
She growled and stomped off to her bed, shutting her sliding door. I lay in bed and laughed myself to sleep. That was classic! Trace is awesome, what next? I didn't know, but I was excited! So excited!
