• A twig snapped as he hauled me up, and he dropped me back down and turned to the forest, silver blades sliding from where they had been hidden up his sleeve. I stared in amusment. "That reminds me of Wolverine." Dante glanced back at me with his ever-changing, now- smoky gray eyes. "Wolverine?" "You know." I said. "From Wolverine and the X-men." he shook his head. "X-men origins? Um..." His eyes flashed in amusement. "I take it you're bored." I shrugged. "Either that, or the cold is getting to me." Dante kept his gaze on me for a moment, before sliding the blades back up his sleeves and trudging over, hauling me up by one arm, shoving open the cathedral doors and walking inside. The room was large and lit by a few flickering candles. He dumped me out on a pew before turning, black coat swishing dramatically. "Stay quiet." with this, he left.

Even though Dimitri had knocked me out, I could still hear everything that he had been doing. From him bumbling about being beat up by a girl, to how he thought he should go on a vacation, and a new partner other than Dante. He was actually starting to sound totally different to me, then when I was awake. Instead of being a person with a big ego, he started to sound just a tad, I don't know, sensitive. We finally came to a stop, and I was put down. It was freezing! was now sitting in a spot with wet leaves, and it was making me come to now being able to wake up after a couple of hours.

I turned around. The candle light flickered eerily off of the stone angels, who seemed to be staring at me between their folded wings. I twisted around and looked at the ropes that held me. Not even rope! They were icy cold chains, tightly pressed to my skin. I picked at them with my fingernails, but nothing happened. I glanced at the door, and seeing no sign of entry, I stood and moved to one of the angel statues. The pedestal had a sharp corner, and I turned my back to it, slowly running the chains along it. There was a soft clink as I ran the metal back and forth. Just then the door opened and Dante stepped in, closing the door and running a hand down his face. His eyes alit on me. "What are you doing?" I glanced back at the chains, which weren't damaged. I scowled. "Trying to escape," I growled. "And failing miserably." He smirked slightly and walked my way, sitting in the pew nearest to me. "They don't break. This is the same stuff we used to chain down Fenrir." I sat down on the floor, leaning against the stone wall. "Fenrir. Those norse myths talk about him." I paused. "YOU chained him?" "It was difficult, but yes. I was involved in that mission." I gaped. "But...you must be ancient." "No, not at all. Fenrir's capture was a recent event. Do you remember the huge earthquake in San Fransisco?" "I think so." Realization flashed in my mind. "That was because of Fenrir?" He smiled, a sincere smile, and I nearly kicked myself for smiling back.

As I began to turn from where I was placed sitting. I fell straight off from what looked like stairs. "Ow!" I yelled. After hearing this Dimitri came back up to me glowering down at me. He began to speak, while I kept my mouth shut to see what would happen. "Ok now you better listen or else," I interrupted him. "Or else what now?" Dimitri's eye started to twitch, and you were able to see the slight pulsing of a vain in his forehead. "Or else I'll knock you out again! Like I did twice already, now quiet. Your going to listening to these rules, and do what I say," Pacing back, and forth he began to tell me. "First off, your going to be silent all the time not back talking me, and then you will stop beating me up!" After he said this I retorted back. "Oh wow do you hold grudges or something because ever since I did that you won't shut up either, or taken revenge," I told him shrugging as best I could being tied up. Dimitri then stared at me like I had grew another head. "What is it now another rule," I shouted at him. He jumped a bit at this, and replied, "No it's just what do you mean by revenge?"

As I leaned against the wall, Dante began to tell me more about the myths I thought I had known. Of how Loki nearly killed Dante's former partner, Altair, before being chained down, and how Fenrir bit off their Captain Tyr's hand. He also told me about Bellepheron, a cocky Hunter apprentice who tamed the wild Pegasus and single handedly slayed the deadly Chimera, who had been misidentified as the Chupacapra, before falling to his death after trying to impress a girl he loved. "You know," I said, pulling my knees to my chest. "You're not that bad. I'm still unbelievably angry that you kidnapped me-" a smile flitted across his features. "But I have to give you props. You can tell a story." He cocked his head. "Props?" "It's a saying. Like giving someone kudos." "Kudos?" I sighed. "How can you be like two years older then me and not know any of this stuff?" He smirked. "I've been wrapped up in other affairs, I'm afraid." I nodded. Dameon Hunting COULD be somewhat distracting. I twisted around so that my back was facing him. "Can you untie me now?" Dante chuckled, but quickly disguised it as a cough. "What's so funny?" "Those chains can't be removed by anyone." "ANYONE?" I whirled around, scrambling to a stand. "What?" "Only the creator can take them off." "And?" "He's dead." "WHAT?!" I glared. Dante stood. "Now, calm down-" Before I could think I swiffly launched forward and kicked him in the shin, taking off towards the door. Grasping it with one slippery hand i jerked it open, just to reveal a glowering Dimitri.

I was just beginning to tell Dimitri what I thought of revenge, by saying, "You know I had beaten you up so many times before, and after you've kidnapped me, but the only thing you've done about it was this," Lifting up my wrists to show him the rope around me wrists. "Why haven't you done something about it like beating me up, or something?" I looked towards the ground a bit afraid of what he might say about this. "I would never beat you up, especially a girl. Now on the other hand that Fallen back there I would have happily," Once he said that he saw me just staring at him angrily. "What?!" He yelled back questioningly. "You shouldn't be calling me a girl, when what you're like a year older, and if you try to beat the Fallen Angel I'll hit you. Also I never took you as a gentlemanly type it's just weird," After that last word left my mouth, I heard a door behind me slam open, which I didn't notice till now. In the doorway now was Ann, in really shiny chain's around her arms. "Oh come on your arms are only chained," I yelled over dramatically.

I held up my arms. "With chains that can't come off!! Ever!!" Dimitri turned around and cocked his head at me. "What are you-" "She tried to escape." Dante's voice suddenly sounded above my ear. "And you're late." "She kicked me!" Dimitri exclaimed. Dante rolled his eyes. "And so you tie up her arms?" Dimitri's face flushed but he didn't say anything. Alainna looked past his arm. "Ann!" "Alainna!" I exclaimed. As the two Hunters argued I hurried over to her and extended my arms. "They won't break, they can't come off-" "Did you try sliding your arms through them?" Alainna asked. I paused and looked down at the chains. "That might work." She rolled her eyes as I attempted the feat, but failed miserably. Suddenly something moved in the underbrush, with the lanky form of a human. "Slade?" I yelled. "Ian?" Just then the figure emerged - the rowan colored hide of a 6 foot tall, three headed dog came into view. Alainna blanched. "I don't think that's Slade." I whispered.

I began to freak out, " Oh my goodness! We're going to be a giant dogs dinner!" I said while trying to get further away from it. "It's not a dog! It's Cerberus, I think," Ann began to say while while coming to my side. "Oh look who came to find us, Dimitri, your little doggie," After Dante said that towards Dimitri I looked at him. "Little doggie? It's has three freaking heads! For goodness sake!" Ann just kept staring in awe of the giant dog. " Yes well he's my pet now, quite loyal with the chains that holds your friend now," Dimitri said gesturing towards Ann.

I stuck my tongue out at him, losing fear. His eyes narrowed. Dante smoothly slid inbetween us. "Let's get inside, now, and wait." he said, shooting a warning glance Dimitri's way. Dimitri threw up his hands. "Why do i always get the dirty looks?!" "Because you usually deserve them." Dante took my arm and started to lead me back into the church. "Cerberus," I remarked. Dante glanced at me, his eyes now a light violet. "Bellepheron. Pegasus. Do you personally know the Greek Gods?" He smirked slightly. "I'm surprised someone knows the Greek Pantheon so well." I shrugged. "But yes, to an extent. We also know the Teutonic Gods." My jaw nearly fell to the floor. "So you-you know Freya and Odin and Balder oh wait he's dead but do you know Hel and Loki-" "How do you know all of these people?!" Alainna exclaimed from somewhere behind me. "I read too much."

"What's your friend, some sort of brain with legs?" I looked up at Dimitri. "Yes, and I am the other brain here thank you. Does that make you the dumb one Dimitri, since Dante seems to know everything here?" He just scowled down at me, and then signaled Cerberus to do something. The three headed dog began walking towards me. "Wait what's he doing?! Get him away!" Dimitri raised his eyebrows while watching me back away from the giant dog. "He's not going to bite you, I'm just to lazy at the moment to carry you in. So Cerberus is. Why afraid of dogs?" Dimitri said while laughing. "Yeah so what?! I bet your afraid of things too!" Just as I had said that I felt a very hot breathe on my neck, and screeched. "Oh don't be a baby," He told me while lifting me onto Cerberus.

I paused, watching Alainna be hoisted up onto the now-playful looking dog, and then turned to see Dante looking down at me. "You are quite curious." He murmured, smiling. I cocked my head. "Why?" "Do you make it a point to study mythology?" "Kind of. I like writing." He nodded and turned. The church doors had closed, and he shoved at them unsuccessfully for a moment or two, before kicking it. He suddenly let out a yowl and started hopping around on one foot. "AGH!!! GOD DAMMIT!!" He screeched, clutching his foot. Dimitri doubled over in laughter and I hid a laugh behind my hands. Dante glared at his comrade. "I should fire you! Ah!! ****!!" He spun around, and saw me. "You're laughing too?!" my face flushed as I nodded, still grinning. He hopped to the door, which he realized he had to pull open. "You're all horrible."

"That's what they call me," Dimitri said towards Dante who called us horrible. "Uhm Dimitri could I have my feet untied please!" I began whining while shifting on top of the dog. "Why should I? You're the one always trying to run way." I looked back up at him doubtfully. "Yeah but now I won't since you've already caught us twice. So I decided to give up, and wait for Ian," I told him while rolling my eyes. After I had said this I had heard Ann yell something. "No Alainna we must keep fighting on! I life depends on it!" Turning my head to her, I saw she was in a somewhat superhero pose, but with her hands tied up. Now remembering I wanted to walk instead of being carried I turned my head back towards Dimitri. His eyes went wide when he saw the death look I was giving him. He now knew what was coming. "GET THESE GOD DAMN ROPES OFF MY FEET, OR I'LL WRIGGLER MY WAY OVER THERE, AND HEAD BUTT YOU!!!" After my little mood swing he now had a new bruise, and me standing next to Ann.

Dante's gaze flickered over to her. "Nice move," he remarked. Dimitri rubbed at his bruise angrily. "I like how you don't stand up for me." "I'm your comrade, not your friend." Dante reminded him, moving to the front of the cathedral. I stood next to Alainna. "I hope slade and ian come soon," i murmured, not completely honest. She nodded, and I think she felt the same way. we stood for a while and whispered about random things, until I shivered from cold and moved to settle in one of the pews, drawing my knees up to my chest and looking down at the chains, trembling. Alainna moved to sit next to Cerberus, who snored quietly. There was the soft sound of breathing, and then the sharp click of boots on stone, before all I could see was the sheen of black. I looked up. Dante stood over me, hands on hips. "Are you cold?" I nodded slightly. He glanced at the stain glass window before slipping out of his black coat, revealing a black tank top underneath, over his tanned arms, which were covered with thin white scars, like spiderwebs. He leaned forward and carefully tucked the jacket around me, his face inches from mine. I averted my gaze. "where did you get all of those scars?" He straightened and his amber eyes darkened. "That's a long story." "I have time." He shook his head. "Not time enough." And then he walked away.

Petting Cerberus I began to look out the window, thinking that Ian and Slade must be in a frantic search party right now, while we're sort of safe. A hand fell onto my shoulder, and I jumped. It was Dimitri looking down on me from where he was standing. "Uhm you looked like you wanted to talk, or something," he told me awkwardly like he wanted to help. "Thank you for your concern, but I don't now, really," I turned my head away from him to look at the three headed dog instead. "What if I tell you something about myself, and why I'm so stuck up?" This had now caught my interest. He new more about me than I had known about him. So I asked, "Such as what?" "My family, and other things I guess," he said while shrugging. 'Now this is gonna be interesting,' I thought.
