- When i was born, May 10th 1550, It was the day of a new holiday that would be coming. May 10th was also my mother, Lily's birth day. Every year on May 10th, we had a feast. My mother prepared every thing for that special day. When I woke on that sweet day, I woke to the love of my mother, and the sprit of my father. My dad, Ben had died from HIV. His death date is june 21. My mom and her family would be waiting for me in our small home, talking about me, and how the day was going to be perfect. I got my hugs, hi's, and gifts from them and looked around for my mom. She was just simply sitting in her rocking chair, letting me, her 6 year old son, take all the gory of our birthday. The next year, the same thing happened. I started to feel sorry for her. This was her day, and she needed it back. For the next four years I was secretly planing some thing so special for her on her birth day. When I awoke on that day, she wasn't there. I walked to her room, finding her on her bed, with a blanket covering her. I took off the blanket finding her dead. She had been raped while i was sleeping and killed. She was buried by my dad on May 19. My mother was a very special person. She worked with the president at one point in her life. On May 19 The president was there to grief for her. I still wanted my special day to happen for her. I walked up to him and handed him a notebook. This notebook had all the plans for a holiday I called Mothers Day. Within two years that day became official. Now all over the world there is a day for mothers to be noticed.
