My vision was blurry.
My head hurt like hell.
I rubbed my eyes, and when I opened them, everything was white.
I didn't remember anything.
My head was pounding.
I shook my self. That had to be a person sitting by me, right?
"Oh good, you've woken up," says a voice. I know that voice from somewhere, don't I?
The face swims into view. I know that face, I'm sure. I don't like the look of that face, not one bit.
Cold, harsh eyes, eyebrows in need of a good plucking, dodgy nose, and a perm that really doesn't suit, but I say none of this, not out of respect, but because I don't trust myself to speak.
I remain silent, while the figure by me smiles. It's not a pretty sight.
When was the last time those teeth were brushed?
Another comes bursting into the room, though I can't see any doors.
"Leave her alone! You have no right to be here! Clear off, else I'll have you arrested!"
The second figure looks a lot nicer. He is followed by a second nice-looking bloke, but as both were glaring at the witch of a woman, I got more confused by the minute. The third of my visitors approached me, closely followed by the other bloke.
"Push off, Mizz Clarckson", The second bloke snarled. "If it weren't for you, trying to break up this family, none of us would be here!"
"There is no way it is acceptable for a child like her to have to live with this kind of embarrassment!" She looked like she was getting cross. I guess part of me was worried she was going to cast some horrible spell.
"You are unfit to raise this poor child. I think it best she is moved to a better family"
"You bloody well tried to run her down!" The second bloke was nearly yelling. His buddy put a hand on his shoulder, calming him down.
It would have worked, I think, if the witch had walked away.
But no, she just had to argue!
"You'll find that hard to prove, I'm afraid. And, just as a passing thought, why would I run down the very girl I'm trying to save?" Her voice was like a shot from a trained marksman.
"YOU'RE TYRING TO RUIN OUR LIVES, SO DON'T GIVE ME YOUR STUPID SAMARITAN CRAP!" I found the shouting very frightening, and it was making him go red in the face. It was a very... How shall I put it? not disconcerting, exactly, but that's a near enough word.
A woman came bustling in. She looked like the shouting had had the same effect on her as it had on me. Either that or she knew the witch lady was in here and didn't want to be in the same room as her. Can't say I blame her, really.
"Now really!" she tutted. She was young, with a pretty face and gorgeous, long brown hair tied back in a single bundle at the nape of her neck. "There's absolutely no need to shout. And we have a policy of only two visitors at a time!" She added sternly.
"It's okay, sister. Mizz Clarckson was just on her way out" Said the first man, in a very forced voice. The term "If looks could kill" comes to mind.
"Come on then Mizz Clarckson. Do you need a map to help you on your way out, or do you know where the door is?" Inquires the nurse. If my head wasn't pounding around in my skull so badly I might have strained to read the name on her badge, so I could thank her of getting rid of the sorceress.
The nurse held the door open for her, and after casting the men a deadly withering look, exited the room.

Description:
I wrote this an age and a half ago...
Not my best work, not by a long shot, and I'm not even sure where it's going, or if I'm going to pick it back up at any time, but tell me what you think of it, criticism more than welcome, as is praise, of course!! - Date: 06/15/2009
