It was a dark and stormy night in the City of Trees. I was wandering the streets looking for the monster that was terrorizing the city. I was a monster hunter that was protecting the cities of my realm. When I first got the call, I was led to believe that the monster I would be facing would be weak. The evidence I found told me otherwise.
"A Slothog," I muttered to myself. "I'm no match for a monster like that." Just then I heard a noise behind me. I whirled around and drew my sword, but no one was there. I slowly sheathed my sword and turned around. I continued to walk down the street, waiting for the Slothog to come.
Once again I heard a noise behind me. I whirled around once again and drew my sword, and said, "Who's there?" I saw no one and my only answer was silence. Then I saw a shadowt figure and froze. The figure slowly approached me with its sword drawn and ready to strike.
The figure lunged at me, slashing at my torso with its sword. I heard the sound of metal striking metal and I knew that I had blocked the attack. I pushed the figure off with much effort and braced myself for another attack, but the figure did not launch itself at me again. It sheathed its sword and spoke.
"Hello Blaze," the figure said.
"How do you know my name," I asked slowly. Two orange eyes were visible beneith the hood of the cloak.
"I have come to help you slay the Slothog that is terrorizing the city," was the figure's only reply. The Slothog had entered the city---while I was occupied with the figure---without me seeing it and it was lumbering up behind the cloaked figure.
"Then turn around," I said. The figure unsheathed its sword and drove it into the monster's foot. The Slothog let out a roar of rage and swung its massive paws at the figure who dodged them and pulled its sword from the Slothog's foot.
I launched myself into the battle dodging the paws of the Slothog. One of the blows finally struck the cloaked figure throwing it against the wall of a house with a sickening thud. I ran faster than I ever had. I got right underneith the Slothog and drove my sword into its heart, drenching my clothes in its blood in the process.I pulled my sword from the Slothog's corpse and walked over to the cloaked figure.
"Who are you," I asked it. The cloaked figure did not answer but it grabbed my hand. As soon as it did that I knew who it was.
"Brie," I said but it was too late. Her hand let go of mine and fell to the ground. I pulled the hood away from her face and saw the truth at last. I had solved the mystery of the cloaked figure. My sister, Brie, had been the mysterious monster hunter.
