• "Daddy!"whined Maria,"I missed you!."

    The girl's father threw Maria up in his arms,"Where have you been,Maria?"he had asked before she could tell him.

    "Daddy, some mean man took me and sister away. I thought I would never find you, but I did,"the six year old girl smiled at her dad and hugged him tightly.

    "Baby girl,don't leave ever like that again! Did he do anything to you or Christie?"

    "No, Daddy! But I don't know where Christie went. I'm worried about her. She was too tired to go any farther when we were half way to our home."

    Maria jumped out of her father's arms. She had saw something move in the bushes. She went over to the leafy bushes, while her father watched her to find out what she was planning on doing. Maria saw a little brown nose poke out.

    "Daddy! Daddy! It's an animal!" The little girl was so happy to see a little cute brown nose pop up, that she fell into the bushes.

    "Honey, be careful!" screamed her father. At that moment her mom came outside to see who her husband was talking to.

    "George, why are you digging in my bushes? I just planted some flowers near them!" Maria's mother did not look happy when she had said that.

    "Mariana(Mar-e-an-a)! I found Maria," Father yelled back.

    "You did? How about Christie?"

    "No, Mariana, I'm sorry. Maria says she couldn't go any farther when they were half way to home," Maria's father still had not got her out of the bushes,"Oh no! Maria!" he started digging in the bushes again.
