A/N: [The term Arya means noble in Sanskrit. In this story, the title is only given to the strongest warrior in Astra. ] This is very very loosely based of the Gunz the Duel fandom. Enjoy reading.
----------------------------------
Thin fingers dropped the casing of a single bullet, the sound of its landing deafening in the midst of the silenced crowd. Brown eyes simply stared stoically from a throne of granite. The red-robed figure then moved, staring at the stupid b*****d who had decided to challenge her at his present skill level.
He was nothing. Simply an arrogant little upstart fresh from the academy who had his head inflated from a few small victories in the coliseum. And the arrogant fool dared to fire a bullet at the wall near her, as though he now owned her life.
Her figure seemed to float down as she jumped down from the balcony, her red and gold robes dancing with the air around her. Her landing was quiet despite having fallen from several feet high. Immediately, the coliseum was filled with chatter, bets were going up in the air, but she paid no heed.
Instead, her attention was on deciding which arm of his was coming off when she drew her sword, a gold-plated beautiful katana with a elongated crescent moon on it. The wind blew her long brown hair to the side as her stare met that of her challenger's eyes. A shotgun and two revolvers were already set on her hip holsters, the two revolvers on her left and the shotgun on her right. Her sword on her back was waiting to be drawn, the faint hum only heard by her as her blade desired the blood of another.
This upstart was going to learn why she, Varwin, had the title of Arya.
----------------------------
The black revolver with the faint inscription of Phantom Cruise smoked from the fired bullet.
Tetsuia's black longcoat blew with the wind, danced with it. His hat, shredded in several places from the previous battles he had fought, lied on the ground next to him, ignored. Shoulder-length black hair glistened with sweat, but his brown eyes still reflected his lack of exhaustion, the strength he still had left. His fire.
He was great. He knew it to be true. Three people at once, four people at once, five people at once. It obviously didn't matter for him. He beat them all, their injured bodies all on the floor and, soon, it'll be that woman on the floor. The woman who was probably lucky to get the name "Arya", noble. He deserved that name better than her. He was stronger.
A vicious grin lit his face as the woman took his challenge, the politicians and the judges all whispering. His shotgun and revolvers were already at his hip, his hand already on the hilt of his sword.
"Start this fight." Astra's "administrator", aptly named Guntrix, brought his hand down to begin the match. The crowd roared.
This was his victory.
--------------------------
The brown-haired figure's lips lifted slightly into a smirk.
Time to teach this arrogant little upstart a lesson.
-------------------------
There was a gold flash and Tetsuia barely drew his sword fast enough to block. The resonating clang made his sword hum in stress, a small fracture mark appearing in the center of the blade. Varwin simply grinned viciously as she withdrew the blade with one hand and slashed again at his waist.
That broke his sword, but it didn't matter since he already dropped the sword and stepped back several times in order to draw his revolvers. One in each hand. Both smoked as two shots were fired simultaneously, one at her head and one at her heart. Just like a real assassin should always do it.
She didn't move to dodge it. She simply stood. This was a pathetically easy victory for him.
And then the sound of metal clashing metal rang through the air, two smoking pieces of metal slowly siding from the gold-plated blade. A bored look appeared on Varwin's face as she gently tapped the tip of the sword on the dusty ground, the two smoldering pieces dropping with a plop. He was surprised, but he knew it didn't mean anything. Anyone in the academy level could block a bullet.
"It would've been bad if I won too easily, Varwin." Tetsuia taunted as he took a fallen sword on the ground from the previous matches he fought. And then he rushed.
The sounds of blade clashing with blade rang into the air as Tetsuia slashed and slashed again with both hands on the hilt. As the clash of the blades continued, Tetsuia smiled when he realized that Varwin was being pushed back, her steps retracting, her body being pushed closer and closer to the edge of the aren....
And then that smile ended up kissing the ground and then eating a whole lot of dirt as the face it was attached to slid for several yards.
He slowly lifted his face off of the floor and slowly opened his dust filled eyes. The red-clad woman had her leg out in a textbook-perfect spin kick follow-through, her left hand holding her sword loosely. A painful realization then came to him. She was simply toying with him, fighting with one hand proverbially tied behind her back the entire time. To add insult to injury, the same ****-eating grin was still plastered her face as she lazily spun her sword around, moving her other hand in a taunting beckoning motion.
She was going to pay for that.
Spitting out the dirt in his mouth and likely a loose tooth as well, he again drew out his revolvers. In that time, Varwin had already sheathed her sword and drew out her own revolvers, silver with the faint writing of Minic on the barrel. She rushed at him in an amateurish way which caused him to smile arrogantly as he pulled both triggers.
No way she was blocking these shots this time.
To his anguished surprise, she did. She fired twice, both bullets colliding into his own. The same smirk lit her face as her eyes burned with a feral bloodlust. Still recovering from surprise, he didn't notice the sound of a sword unsheathing and the hilt of a blade coming towards his chin. When he did, he was already sailing vertically up into the air from the blunt impact.
To the crowd's surprise, Varwin simply turned around and sheathed her sword, her back facing the now falling form of Tetsuia. She took a rather deadly looking shotgun, the barrels nearly as large as the radius of her wrist, blindly pointing it behind her above her head and said.
"I'm removing your stupidity from the gene pool."
Right when Tetsuia's crotch came into the barrel's line of fire...
Boom.
The resulting high-pitched scream of pain could be heard all throughout Astra, the males in the coliseum and those outside immediately holding their own crotches in an unconscious instinctual move.
There on in, from the whiniest of politicians to the most arrogant of warriors, no one ever again contested Varwin's status.
