- Description: This rose formed a barrier along with its fellows and a high hedge to protect the immediate back of Notre Dame. Roses, in case you didn't know, are dreadfully fickle and temperamental plants to take care of, but these roses were in full bloom, and gorgeous, without a spot of disease or a half-chewed leaf in sight. Apparently, roses like France and Notre Dame better then me. Who can blame them?
