This is the new baby Asian elephant that was born less than 2 months ago in Melbourne. She has already proven to be both energetic and popular.
UPDATE: The vote is over and the results has been announced- the new baby elephant's name is Mali!

If you were there with me you would've seen that this IS the best spot. She was all the way at the corner when I got to the enclosure, and we only get a few minutes to see her. Those leaves, the bar(s) and other photographers sure didn't help sad

- Cute pose but a little bit different angle would have gotten rid of that bar at the top. Try to get your subject out of the center too wink Good job!

- as of right now the baby doesn't have a name...yet. They have listed 5 possible names for the baby elephant, and are(will be?) allowing the public to vote. She name will be in Thai, just like the rest of her family, and the 5 possible names to vote for are all flowers: Leelawadee, Mali, Ma Li Wan, Su Ma Li or Lyares. If I can I'd vote for Lyares- it's wild orchard, suits her playful nature!
