- Description: This is a photo of a sea turtle named Aloma that I took two years ago at Archelon, the sea turtle rescue center in Athens, Greece. She was there to heal from injuries caused by a boat propeller. Some of her scars are visible on her nose. According to the Rescue Center's website, it takes in up to 50 turtles each year, with the most common injuries being due to "fishing gear entanglement, ingestion of hooks and plastic bags, deliberate head injuries by fishermen, collision with speedboats, etc."
