The word bubble has a very mechanical look to it, like it was made by a machine. Drawing the bubbles without any tools to help you usually gives it a more natural look.

Also...maybe you should experiment more with your shading. It would add a more dramatic effect. Tilted camera views and intense facial expressions would also help make this more dramatic.
