- Well, in the past I've actually been really bad at dogs in general. The shape of a cat kinda comes naturally to me, but canines are tough. I decided to practice them, so I did a whole series of canines based on reference photos, taxidermy, and live models. I chose a coyote to paint in watercolor because they have the worst reputation. Many consider them a nuisance, dirty, pests, etc. What more worthy to depict as beautifully as I could?
